Overview
This full-time Internal Medicine - Cardiology role provides a unique blend of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, including clinic management, hospital rounding, consultations, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The position emphasizes continuity of care with a dedicated patient panel, hospital-based diagnostic review, and a rotating schedule designed to foster professional growth and patient outcomes. Candidates with a passion for non-invasive cardiology and a desire for a long-term commitment will thrive in this role. The position requires active supervision and certification to support Physician Assistants and ensure quality care standards.
Required Skills
- Valid and active medical license with supervising authority for Physician Assistants
- Board Certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Cardiology
- Proven experience in outpatient non-invasive cardiology practice
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage a patient panel and follow established care protocols
Nice to Have Skills - Experience with hospital-based inpatient care and diagnostic studies
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary rounds and consultative services
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Additional certifications or training in advanced cardiac imaging or testing
Preferred Education and Experience - MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 3 years of post-residency cardiology experience, particularly in non-invasive procedures
- Prior experience in hospital and outpatient clinic settings preferred
Other Requirements - Willingness to commit to a full-time schedule, including clinic and hospital rotations
- Active supervising license required; eligibility to be added as a locum tenens supervising physician
- Ability to travel for hospital rotations every 5-6 weeks when needed
- Participation in ongoing quality assurance initiatives and continued medical education
