Pediatric Headache Specialist

Faculty Position — Yale School of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Neurology

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics Section of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine is seeking full-time, clinical-academic Pediatric Headache specialist to join its growing Pediatric Pediatric Neurology programs. Applicants are sought at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor ranks, and academic appointments will be in the Yale School of Medicine.

Yale’s pediatric neurology program provides state-of-the-art neurologic care supported by dedicated nursing, psychology, and social work teams, and features multidisciplinary clinics that include a pediatric headache program.

Extensive infrastructure for research is available throughout the Yale Campus, and cutting-edge initiatives in Clinical Neurosciences/Neuroimaging and basic-translational neurosciences are currently being implemented.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

· Provide expert evaluation and management of pediatric headache disorders within Yale’s Pediatric Headache Program and broader Pediatric Neurology clinics.

· Deliver inpatient and outpatient neurology care in collaboration with Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital’s multidisciplinary neurology team.

· Collaborate with psychologists, neuropsychologists, social workers, and allied professionals to deliver family-centered headache care.

Education

· Teach and mentor Yale medical students, pediatric and neurology residents, and child neurology fellows.

· Participate in conferences, didactics, and interdisciplinary teaching

Research & Scholarship

· Engage in clinical or translational research related to pediatric headache and pain disorders.

· Collaborate with Yale’s strong neurology research community and participate in ongoing scholarship within the department.

Program Participation & Academic Service

· Contribute to Yale’s established multidisciplinary subspecialty clinics, including the pediatric headache clinic and other neurology programs. [yalemedicine.org]

· Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and academic service aligned with Yale School of Medicine expectations.

Required Qualifications

· MD or DO degree, with a proven track record of excellent patient care.

· Board eligibility or board certification in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

· Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut.

· Subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Headache or Headache Medicine

· Experience in pediatric headache program development or participation in multidisciplinary headache clinics.

· Research interests in pediatric pain, migraine, or clinical trials.

· Demonstrated excellence in teaching and academic mentorship.
