Acute Care Pediatric Physician Assistant

As an Acute Care Pediatric Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing complex medical cases within a collaborative environment that emphasizes continuous, comprehensive care. Required Skills:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in the state of practice
- Certification in Basic Critical Care (BC Critical Care Certification)
- Proven experience managing pediatric cardiac patients, including VADs, trach/ventilator dependence, inotropic infusions, chest tubes, external pacing wires, and peritoneal dialysis
- Exceptional clinical judgment, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across multiple patient care teams and shift schedules
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with pediatric heart failure and transplant care
- Familiarity with complex medical devices and post-operative management
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac or critical care experience
- Prior experience working in a high-acuity inpatient setting, preferably with pediatric patients
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work 3x13-hour shifts (07:00 – 20:00) including weekends
- Ability to handle high patient acuity and manage up to 15 patients during night shifts
- Commitment to maintaining licensure, certifications, and ongoing education relevant to pediatric cardiac care
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development as needed
