Neonatologist – Full-Time Perm Position

Overview:
Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatologist to join our esteemed neonatal care team. This full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive neonatal services within a collaborative environment that emphasizes clinical excellence, innovation, and professional growth. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering advanced in-house NICU care across multiple facilities within the Saint Luke's Health System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, in-house coverage at a Level-IIIB NICU with 49 designated beds, managing critically ill neonates, including those as premature as 22 weeks gestational age.
  • Utilize advanced therapies such as inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), and therapeutic hypothermia for critically ill neonates.
  • Care for over 450 annual NICU admissions, maintaining an average daily census of approximately 30 patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs), supporting their around-the-clock in-house coverage.
  • Oversee or assist with care in a 15-bed Level-IIIA NICU, a growing Level-II NICU, and well-baby care units.
  • Participate in telehealth-supported out-of-hospital neonatal coverage and regional neonatal delivery services.
  • Engage actively in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient safety.
  • Pursue individual academic and clinical interests to foster professional development.

Qualifications and Certifications:
  • MD or DO degree with eligibility for medical licensure in Missouri.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology.
  • Proven expertise in managing critically ill neonates, including extremely low gestational age newborns (ELGAN).
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
