Physician - Neonatology

Neonatologist – Perm Position in Fredericksburg, VA

We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Neonatologist to join our growing Level III NICU program at a reputable healthcare facility near Fredericksburg, Virginia. This full-time, permanent role offers a flexible week-on/week-off schedule, a home call model, and exceptional opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative clinical environment.

Position Overview:

• Provide comprehensive, high-quality neonatal care within a Level III NICU and newborn nursery.
• Manage high-risk deliveries collaboratively with obstetric and perinatal teams to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
• Deliver patient-centered care to a daily census of approximately 9-11 neonates.
• Work within an 8-bed Level III NICU and 10 LDR couplet care rooms.
• Engage actively with a multidisciplinary team that includes fellow Neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and respiratory therapists.
• Mentor and support NICU nursing and respiratory teams, particularly as patient acuity and volume grow.
• Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of clinical protocols aimed at maintaining excellence in neonatal care.
• Participate in strategic planning to promote growth and expansion of the NICU services.
• Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and clinical audits.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with hospital leadership and staff.
• Optional participation in moonlighting opportunities across Virginia to supplement income.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Neonatology or Board Eligible (with certification completion within a designated timeframe).
• Residency within the immediate local area; relocation assistance may be provided.
