Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery

ECU Health Physicians and The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC are seeking a Board-Certified/Board Eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide acute patient care in their Cardiac Surgery ICU. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center
• Inpatient only clinical care in a high volume 16-bed cardiac ICU
• Established team of 8 experienced Advanced Practice Providers and 6 Surgeons
• Ability to work with a nationally recognized cardiothoracic surgery program that performs more than 1,000 pump cases annually
• Clinical responsibilities will include performing histories and physical examinations, patient assessments, daily patient rounds with physicians, and facilitation of pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Schedule will include (7) 12-hour shifts every 2 weeks with rotating nights and weekends
• Procedures will include chest tube placement and removal, arterial lines, central lines, swan-ganz catheter, thoracentesis, transvenous pacers, and bronchoscopies
• High level of autonomy
• ACLS certification by the American Heart Association is required
