Capital Health Medical Group is seeking a Hand Surgeon to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluation, surgical and non?surgical treatment, and longitudinal care for patients with conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, and peripheral upper?extremity nerve structures. Responsibilities include outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, emergency call coverage, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment committed to patient?centered care.
Full-spectrum clinical practice including traumatic injuries, degenerative disorders, congenital anomalies, nerve conditions, and soft?tissue pathology
Advanced surgical interventions such as fracture fixation, tendon/nerve repair, arthroplasty, reconstructive procedures, microvascular surgery, and arthroscopy
Balanced operative and non?operative care, including injections, splinting, therapy referrals, and conservative management
Outpatient clinic leadership with responsibility for evaluation, treatment planning, and follow?up
Inpatient consultative services and ED evaluations for upper?extremity pathology
Shared call rotation for hand and upper?extremity emergencies
Collaborative environment working closely with orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, primary care, radiology, and certified hand therapists
Clear communication with patients, families, and referring providers
Accurate and timely EMR documentation
Participation in quality improvement, M&M conferences, and peer review
Commitment to evidence?based practice and clinical guidelines
Opportunities to teach residents, medical students, and APPs
Ongoing continuing medical education and maintenance of board certification
Engagement in departmental meetings, committees, and service line development
MD or DO degree
Completion of an accredited residency in Orthopedic Surgery or Plastic Surgery
Completion of a Hand Surgery Fellowship
Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic or Plastic Surgery
Eligibility for or possession of a CAQ in Hand Surgery
Active state medical license (or ability to obtain)
Current DEA and CDS registration
Fellowship?trained hand surgeon; both new graduates and experienced surgeons are encouraged to apply
Proficiency in hand and upper?extremity surgical techniques, including microsurgery
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision?making abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Dedication to delivering high?quality, patient?centered care
Hospital, clinic, and operating room settings
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and standard surgical risks
Participation in assigned call responsibilities
