Required Skills:

• Active North Carolina medical license and DEA registration (North Carolina address)
• Board Certification in General Surgery
• Proven experience in common general surgical procedures such as hernia repair, cholecystectomy, breast surgery, and endoscopy
• Strong knowledge of surgical best practices and protocols
• Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to work promptly within a 20-minute radius for on-call duties
• Clean background check with no recent or open malpractice or disciplinary issues

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience working in hospital-owned accommodations or on-call environments
• Familiarity with Meditech 6.1 EMR system
• Military service experience or security clearance credentials

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of post-residency experience in general surgery
• Prior experience with on-call surgical services in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

• Must be credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid, enrolled via PECOS
• Able to fulfill 4 hours of gratis service daily (preferably in bulk)
• Willingness to stay within four hours of the facility during call shifts
• Must include malpractice insurance in daily rate and adhere to hospital bylaws regarding on-call presence
• Travel expenses capped at $500 when applicable
• Providers should communicate via email and include NPI# and malpractice info with applications
