Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is looking for a dynamic at-large travel hospitalist to join our regional team who is passionate about rural medicine, is looking to make a difference in medically underserved communities across the country, and wants to enjoy a flexible schedule with more autonomy. This position would entail regional travel across multiple assigned RPG hospitalist programs in the central region of the United States. An ideal candidate would exhibit sterling clinical qualifications, is outgoing and congenial, shows an aptitude for problem-solving and working hard with colleagues and nursing staff to improve outcomes, and is able to work at the top of their license.

Our expansive network of passionate, experienced hospitalists, General and Orthopedic Surgeons, and APPs works full-time to solve the healthcare crisis in rural communities, partnering with hospitals to offer continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.
THE OPPORTUNITY
At-large employed travel hospitalist working blocks of 24-hour shifts on an as-needed basis at specified partner hospitals
- Expected availability of an average of 10 shifts per month or around 120 annually
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively through the year across a wide geographic region of the country
Acts as a physician ambassador for RPG and is adaptable to a variety of settings, volumes, EMRs, and team/leadership styles
- Assignments may vary significantly by a number of factors including location, timing, and staffing need
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- W-2 full-time employment
Salaried position: $260,000.00 annual base, paid in bi-monthly installments
WRVU-based productivity compensation with no minimum threshold or cap: $35.00 per wRVU billed, paid monthly based on prior month production
- Increased shift rates for hospitalist working more than 10 shifts per month
- Holiday shift premium shift rates paid

Initial state medical license and DEA assistance
- CME allowance and reimbursement: approved CME will be reimbursed up to a certain amount, including expenses related to tuition, travel, and lodging for CME-specific activities
- Travel Reimbursement: reasonable and pre-approved travel expenses related to assignment at customer hospitals that comply with policy will be reimbursed
- Malpractice Insurance provide by RPG
SCHEDULE & ACCOMODATIONS
- Expected availability of an average of 10 shifts per month or around 120 annually
- Consistent placement within a geographic region of RPG partner hospitals
- On-shift hospital housing provided by RPG: dedicated and convenient private and comfortable quarters/call-room
- Meals may be provided depending on the specific RPG partner hospital
QUALIFICATIONS
- Board certified in family or internal medicine
- Active state licensure or ability to obtain
- Ability to perform full scope of practice at the top of your license
- Clean malpractice and disciplinary history
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Previous hospitalist experience required, previous experience in a critical access hospital setting strongly preferred
- EMR: familiarity with a wide variety of EMR systems as well as the ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently
- BLS, ACLS current certification required
- COVID vaccine required
- A wide-ranging procedural proficiency and willingness to perform highly preferred as the needs of each partner hospital may vary
