At Rochester Regional Health, anesthesiologists practice in a physician-led department built around a highly engaged leadership structure and a collaborative care team model. With five hospitals and three ambulatory surgery centers located in close proximity, physicians benefit from clinical variety, schedule flexibility, and operational stability while maintaining meaningful control over their day-to-day practice.

 

Compensation & Incentives

  • Competitive compensation model

  • 5% annual quality incentive

  • $100,000 sign-on bonus

  • Additional $100,000 retention incentive paid over four years ($25,000 annually)

Call & Schedule Structure

The department prioritizes predictability, fairness, and post-call recovery to support long-term sustainability in practice.

  • Approximately one late call per week, typically ending between 5:00-7:00 PM during non-call weeks

  • Three overnight calls every two months

  • Approximately one weekend assignment every five weeks

  • Overnight general call is in-house and primarily focused on labor & delivery coverage with emergent OR support

  • Guaranteed post-call day after overnight call

  • Additional weekdays off following weekend assignments

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology

  • Eligible for licensure in New York State

  • Fellowship training is welcomed but not required

PAY RANGE:

$400,000.00 - $600,000.00

 

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
