Position Summary:
Sinai Chicago is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Department of Interventional Radiology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, a level I trauma center. You will work in collaboration with a team of 4 fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists providing the full spectrum of IR services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inpatient and outpatient consultations, including H&Ps, consult and progress notes
- Educate patients on procedures, including risks, benefits, alternatives, and expected outcomes
- Participate in informed consent process per institutional policy
- Complete H&P and pre-procedure assessments for IR procedures, including sedation assessments and relevant clinical evaluations
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies/imaging
- Develop competency in basic IR procedures (e.g., paracentesis, thoracentesis, image-guided biopsies, drainage, aspirations, PICCs, Ports)
- Assist Interventional Radiologists during complex procedures
- Maintain required certifications and licensure (CPR, ACLS, state license, etc.)
- Comply with institutional/departmental policies and continuing education requirements
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
- Active and valid license to practice in the state of Illinois
- Certification in basic CPR and ACLS
- Willingness to learn and grow within the IR specialty
Schedule & Benefits:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
- No weekend or after-hours call
