Opportunity Details

This position includes close collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons and fellow PAs to deliver exceptional care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, encompassing initial evaluation, treatment planning, and post-operative management. This role includes direct patient care, clinical decision-making, procedural support, and inpatient orthopaedic trauma support, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated orthopaedic care across all phases of treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduation of NP or PA-C Program
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • 1-2 years of post-graduate PA-C experience, preferably in an orthopaedic or surgical specialty
  • Demonstrated clinical judgment, procedural proficiency, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced orthopaedic setting
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and engagement

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations for orthopedic patients.
  • Assist surgeons in the operating room and perform minor procedures as delegated
  • Provide support to inpatient Orthopaedic Trauma services, including call and rounding responsibilities
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including wound care, rehabilitation planning, and follow-up.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and labs.
  • Educate patients on procedures, treatment options, and recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, including physical therapists and nursing staff, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Document all patient care accurately in the EMR (Epic)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical protocols and guidelines
