The Barnabas Health Medical Group, in collaboration with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, invites applications for a Medical Director in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset. The Department is responsible for all anatomic and clinical laboratory services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset, a 339 bed regional medical center in Somerville, NJ. The successful candidate will be the leader of the pathology laboratory at RWJUH-Somerset, responsible for oversight of all aspects of the laboratory operation. This individual will provide leadership for staff, will plan, organize and direct the activities of the Laboratory with the assistance of managers, supervisors and senior technologists and will serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, closely collaborating with physicians and other health care providers. The Director will have responsibility for providing clinical direction to the Somerset laboratory, including laboratory oversight, test validation and maintenance of College of American Pathologists accreditation of the laboratory; experience in a CAP accredited laboratory is desirable. As a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff and participating in tumor boards is expected. This is a general pathology service within a community hospital, although subspecialty expertise in cytopathology or hematopathology is desirable.
A minimum of five (5) years experience, an MD, DO, or MBBS, board certification in AP/CP, a New Jersey Medical License, and eligibility for a New Jersey Bioanalytical Laboratory Director License are required. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position for the successful candidate is $400,000 to $490,000 per year.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
