What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with pediatric providers to evaluate patients and determine when surgery is necessary
- Provide preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for pediatric patients
- Manage care coordination for patients you have admitted
- Provide weekend surgical consults as needed
- Support after-hours clinical communication (majority of after-hours calls come from the Pediatric Emergency Department)
- Respond promptly to emergency consult requests (per assignment requirements)
- Participate in a team model with office support staff for call triage and needs like RX refills
What You Need
Required - Board Certified pediatric surgeon (or Board Certified status as specified in the posting)
- Experience providing surgical care for pediatric patients across newborn-to-teenage age ranges
Preferred - Comfort with ED-driven consult workflows and emergent pediatric surgical support (timelines and call response expectations apply)
About the Assignment
Join a community health system providing surgical care for pediatric patients from newborns through teenage years. Coverage includes full-time support across clinic hours Monday–Friday, overnight call Monday–Friday, and 24-hour weekend call, with consults primarily coming from the Pediatric Emergency Department and weekend surgical consult needs as required.
