What You’ll Do
  • Start each day with rounding alongside residents to understand the patient plan.
  • Review patients and see those who need to be evaluated, ensuring timely inpatient care.
  • Place and update orders as part of ongoing inpatient neurosurgery management.
  • Manage workflows including orders and discharge responsibilities.
  • Provide patient care only (APPs do not go into the OR).
  • Support inpatient neurosurgery rounds and coordinate follow-through on the daily plan.
  • Preferred: assist with drain management (e.g., Hemovac/Jackson-Pratt drains).
What You Need
Required
  • Board Certification: BC in Neurosurgery required
  • State License: Massachusetts (MA)
  • Experience: 1 year minimum neuro experience
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment

Preferred
  • Comfort/ability to remove drains (Hemovac / JP drains)
About the Assignment
This is an inpatient neurosurgery role at a hospital setting in Boston, supporting adult patients through daily rounds, evaluations, order placement, and discharge processes. The APP will work as part of the inpatient care team alongside residents, with patient care responsibilities only.
