What You’ll Do
  • Provide general orthopedic surgery coverage during the scheduled period
  • Respond to 24-hour call needs and manage on-call responsibilities
  • Perform orthopedic evaluations and consults (expected volume not guaranteed)
  • Manage ED visits for closed reductions and related admissions (expected volume not guaranteed)
  • Perform orthopedic surgeries as needed, including fracture care and I&D for long bone trauma
  • Coordinate patient stabilization and ensure transfer as clinically indicated
  • Maintain required credentialing and documentation throughout the assignment

What You Need
Required
  • Board Certification
  • Active North Carolina (NC) medical license
  • Active NC DEA (must be tied to an NC address)
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements for Medicaid/Medicare
  • Enrolled with PECOS as a provider
  • Vaccination requirement: Provider must be vaccinated
  • NPI# included in the bid/submission
  • On-call proximity: Must be within 20 minutes of the hospital at all times on call
