Job Summary

Tower Health is looking for a seasoned Hospitalist to join the team at Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing (RHRW).

RHRW, a freestanding rehabilitation facility that is part of the 700-bed Reading Hospital, is the only hospital in the region to be accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Joint Commission.

Highlights:

  • Works with a team of 6 Hospitalists and 11 Physiatrists at Tower Health's Reading Hospital Rehab Hospital, comprised of 61 bed acute rehab unit, where hospitalist serve as consultants for PM&R.
  • Admit & manage clinical care of Adult Medicine Service patients on a sub-acute unit, with average LOSof 13 days.
  • Comprehensive medical consults in a co-management model on acute rehab patients with Physiatry.
  • Co-manage Stroke and Tracheostomy patients along with Physiatrist
  • Provide care to patients on the Traumatic Brain Injury Unit.
  • Discharge planning, including ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Develop relationships with patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Inpatient attending for Internal Medicine Residents; cooperative relationship with PM&R Residents.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Candidates coming out of training encouraged to apply!
  • A valid PA Medical License or the ability to obtain one is required
  • Experience practicing medicine in a hospital setting
  • Highly computer literate and familiar with charting
  • Excels in communicating sensitive and/or adverse information
  • Sound judgment and expert decision-making abilities
  • Analytical thinker and complex problem-solver
