Opportunity Overview

Avera Cancer Institute is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Medical Geneticist to join our growing, multidisciplinary genetics program in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance a comprehensive genetics service line that supports multiple specialties across a large regional health system.

Position Highlights

  • Provide medical genetic consultations within an integrated high-risk genetics clinic. 
  • Collaborate with specialists in oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, neurology, and primary care. 
  • Work alongside genetic counselors, advanced practice providers, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, and physicians in a team-based environment.
  • Support hereditary risk assessment, disease prevention strategies, clinical research, and education initiatives.
  • Utilize established telemedicine capabilities to serve patients across Avera’s extensive rural footprint.
  • Opportunities for academic appointments, teaching, and mentorship through local medical school and residency programs.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Genetics
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Genetics residency program
