Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute announces a search for a neuropsychologist with specific interest and experience in neurological diseases including Alzheimers, Parkinsons, and Multiple Sclerosis. This individual will join the staff of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, Nevada and will have full testing support from psychometricians (including a bilingual Spanish speaking psychometrist) and/or trainees. The incoming neuropsychologist will interact with neurologists, psychiatrists, health psychologists, neurorehabilitation therapists, and brain imaging experts in an outpatient setting.
Primary responsibilities will include neuropsychological assessment with the assistance of a technician/advanced trainee, including record review, clinical interview, report writing, and providing feedback to patients, families, and referring providers. We currently offer opportunities for involvement in the education and training of practicum students from a clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and we also have historically had a competitive postdoctoral training program in clinical neuropsychology. Individuals with interest in educational and training leadership are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional opportunities for program development, working with professional athletes, and clinical intervention services, including involvement in the Healthy Action to Benefit Independence and Thinking (HABIT) program for individuals living with mild cognitive impairment and their care partners, may also be available. Involvement in ongoing, center-wide research is also possible, as we have a strong presence of neuroimaging researchers with whom neuropsychology often collaborates, as well as available data from observational cohort-based studies.
Applicants should have completed a doctoral degree from an APA or CPA-accredited program in clinical psychology and a postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in clinical neuropsychology. Experience working with those with neurodegenerative conditions is strongly preferred. Eligibility for licensure in Nevada is essential, with the expectation of the successful candidate having or pursuing board certification in clinical neuropsychology. Significant institutional support is available for those pursuing board certification. Early-career professionals, including graduating fellows, are particularly encouraged to apply.
