The Brown University Health Department of Neurology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neurologist with fellowship training in Neuromuscular Medicine or Clinical Neurophysiology to join its established Neuromuscular Division. This is an exciting opportunity to aid in the growth of the Neurology service line working with a committed group of health professionals and a team with very low turnover. This position is part of the long-term academic plan for the Rhode Island Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School.

  • Join a highly committed team of more than 40 neurologists (4 Neurophysiology Physicians), experienced advanced practice providers, nursing and secretarial support
  • Work at Rhode Island Hospital, a major academic center in Rhode Island, providing comprehensive care for patients with complex neuromuscular disorders
  • The division includes a multidisciplinary Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic and a multidisciplinary ALS clinic
  • EMG Laboratory has a single fiber EMG and is recognized with Accreditation with Exemplary Status by the AANEM
  • Patients with neuromuscular conditions have access to cutting-edge, emerging therapies in neuromuscular medicine, including a network of infusion centers that support advanced disease-modifying treatments
  • Inpatient/call service only about 4 weeks
  • Academic appointment to Brown with teaching responsibilities

About the benefits:

  • Base salary $225,000-$285,000, with opportunities for additional bonus

About you:

  • Board certified or eligible in Neurology additional fellowship training or experience in movement disorders required
  • Completion of a US-based Neurology residency required
  • Record of accomplishment, promise as a teacher and as a clinician while also having a record of accomplishments pertinent to the academic rank of initial appointment
  • Interest in settling long term in Rhode Island &/or Southeastern Massachusetts
