  • Candidates must demonstrate an established trajectory of regional, national, or international recognition in brain tumor surgery and research. 
  • Faculty rank and tenure status will be determined by the qualifications, academic achievements, and experience of the successful candidate. The major criteria for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at Rush University include a sustained track record of excellence in clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that significantly advances the field of neuro-oncology. 

Research & Clinical Leadership 

  • We seek an accomplished individual to lead and expand a robust brain tumor clinical practice and research program. 
  • The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between bench and bedside by successfully initiating early-phase clinical trials, expanding our existing clinical trials portfolio, and fostering deep multidisciplinary collaboration across the Rush University System for Health. 
  • In addition to driving translational and clinical innovation, this individual will play a pivotal role in expanding clinical capacity, mentoring junior faculty and residents, and cementing Rush’s leadership in complex brain tumor care. 

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Education/Training: MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency training program, and a dedicated fellowship in surgical neuro-oncology (preferred). 
  • Board Status: Board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons (ABNS).
  •  Licensure: Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois.
  • Academic/Research Track Record: A proven history of peer-reviewed publications, a strong portfolio of translational/clinical research, and a demonstrated ability to secure sustained extramural research funding. 
  • Experience: Demonstrated leadership in clinical care, resident and fellow education, and institutional service.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range: $728,000 - $1,097,325 (TCC)
