Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician
Auburn Rehab Unit at East Alabama Medical Center
Opening April 2027
Every physician hopes to make a meaningful impact. Few have the opportunity to shape an entire program from its beginning.
East Alabama Medical Center invites an exceptional Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician to join us as we establish the Auburn Rehab Unit at EAMC, a newly renovated, 17-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility opening in April 2027.
This is an opportunity to do more than practice medicine. It is an opportunity to define a culture, build a multidisciplinary team, and create a rehabilitation program that will serve patients and families across our region for decades to come.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
The Auburn Rehab Unit is hospital-owned and hospital-led. Our decisions are made by people who know our patients, our caregivers, and our community—not by shareholders or a distant corporate office.
Our commitment is simple: build an exceptional rehabilitation program centered on clinical excellence, collaboration, and compassionate care.
From the beginning, you will have the opportunity to help shape the program's vision, clinical standards, interdisciplinary model, and future growth. Your voice will matter because your leadership will matter.
Our Culture
The foundation of our program is our people.
We believe the best rehabilitation outcomes are achieved when physicians, therapists, nurses, case managers, and hospital leaders work as one team with a shared purpose. We are committed to creating an environment where collaboration is expected, ideas are welcomed, and every team member is empowered to contribute.
This culture of alignment allows physicians to focus on what matters most—delivering exceptional care while helping build an organization that continually improves.
Your Opportunity
As the founding PM&R physician, you will have the unique privilege to:
A Legacy Worth Building
Buildings can be renovated. Equipment can be purchased. Programs become exceptional because of the people who choose to build them.
We are seeking a physician who is energized by collaboration, inspired by innovation, and motivated by the opportunity to create something that will endure.
If you are looking for a position where your leadership will shape more than today's patient care—where it will influence the future of rehabilitation medicine in our community—we invite you to explore this opportunity.
The Auburn Rehab Unit at East Alabama Medical Center is more than a new inpatient rehabilitation facility. It is an investment in our community and a commitment to excellence.
We invite you to help build it.
