Physician - Hospitalist

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Day Hospitalists to join our team at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital (SRMH). SRMH is a 238-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. It serves as a regional healthcare hub for the Shenandoah Valley, providing a wide range of services including advanced cardiovascular care, cancer treatment, surgical services, women s health, and a Level III trauma center. SRMH is known for its patient-centered approach, modern facilities, and commitment to quality and safety, consistently earning recognition for clinical excellence and community-focused care within the Sentara Health system.

Role Summary

The Hospitalist Physician provides inpatient medical care to the adult patient population, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support quality, safety, and efficient patient flow.

Position Highlights

Day Hospitalist

• Flex role
• Admissions: Rotational and evenly distributed amongst all providers; Dedicated APP and Physician admitter/swing support
• No procedures required
• ICU Model: Open with critical care support in person 7a-7p, eICU remote support from 7p-7a
• Vent management support by critical care team

Care Model

• Patient Census: Average Daily Census 16
• APP Support: Yes, dedicated APP for PASS Clinic and Ortho Patients, Dedicated Observation APP, Dedicated daytime and swing admitting APPs, and Dedicated night/floor call APP

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible (IM or FM), Certification must be obtained within 5 years of eligibility
• Eligible for licensure and credentialing in Virginia
