DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT

Clinical and surgical duties on the subject of diseases of the male and female urinary tract system and the male reproductive organs; kidneys, adrenal glands, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra, and the male reproductive organs (testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate, and penis). Participation with resident and medical student education.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Participates in the operating room commensurate with technical abilities.
  • Performs preoperative and post-operative evaluation for surgical patients.
  • Provide surgery  of the Penis, Urethra, Orchiectomy (Simple-Radical), Ureter, Bladder, and Kidney.
  • Participates in a team approach to ensure appropriate patient assessments, anticipate patient care needs, prevent avoidable complications, and achieve optimal patient conditions.
  • Act in adherence to surgical care in accordance with ethical principles.
  • Comprehensive care of ambulatory patients in the outpatient Urology Clinicas well as taking care of  all inpatients and patients presenting to the Emergency Department, Performs Clinic Examinations, Management of New Patient Consultations, Diagnosis and Treatment.
  • Assist with Residency Training Program.
  • Appropriate charting, including the timely documentation of patient assessment and plan of care.
  • Responsible for regular postoperative follow-up, patient teaching and wound care upon discharge orders in the chart in a timely manner.
  • Perform emergency surgical procedures as needed.
  • Completion of encounters and dictation of operative notes. Participation in committees if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Compressed 7:00am to 5:00pm. However, it is subject to change depending on the needs of the Medical Center.
