Physician - Emergency Medicine

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to join a team of 25 providers across two locations in the South Carolina Lowcountry — including a brand-new Bluffton Community Hospital opening March 2027.

Position Highlights

• Physician openings across two sites: Bluffton Community Hospital (opening March 2027) and the Hilton Head Island freestanding emergency department
• 12-hour shifts — 7 AM to 7 PM days or 7 PM to 7 AM nights
• 28 inpatient beds with approximately 50 patients per day and 18,000 annual ED census
• Full specialist support on-call with the exception of open heart and neurosurgery
• Practice alongside 25 physicians and 8 APPs
• Meditech Expanse EMR

Position Benefits

• Competitive hourly compensation: $275/hr days, $285/hr nights, $300/hr for dedicated nocturnists

Position Requirements

• MD or DO — Emergency Medicine board certified or board eligible preferred
• Internal Medicine or Family Practice physicians with relevant ED experience will be considered
• ATLS certification required for non-ABEM board-certified candidates
