Schedule:
- Schedule is varied based on the needs of the Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform orthopedic evaluations, including histories, exams, and musculoskeletal assessments.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory results.
- Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising orthopedic surgeons.
- Perform in-office procedures within scope (e.g., injections, casting, splinting, wound care).
- Assist in surgery, including pre-op, first assist, and post-op care.
- Manage post-operative and follow-up care, adjusting plans as needed.
- Educate patients on conditions, treatments, recovery, and prevention.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain continuing education and current orthopedic knowledge.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Kansas, or eligibility for licensure.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited program.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Previous medical office and surgical first assist experience preferred
