Med-Cure Internal Medicine, a physician-led, private single-specialty group, is seeking a Hospitalist Physician to join its growing team at Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear, Arizona. With continued population growth and increasing demand for inpatient care in the Goodyear community, the practice is expanding its hospitalist team and currently has 1-2 openings available.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking for strong earning potential, a predictable schedule, extensive specialty support, and the option to teach residents and medical students.
Position Highlights
- 16 shifts per month
- 7:00 AM-7:00 PM day shifts
- Separate nocturnist coverage from 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
- $260,000 guaranteed base salary
- Expected total compensation of $325,000-$400,000 for a full-time physician
- Opportunity to receive up to 80% of collections
- Up to $20,000 quality bonus
- Additional teaching incentive

- $3,000 annual CME allowance

Clinical Practice
Hospitalists work at a 220-bed Level I Trauma Center with extensive specialty and critical-care resources. The ICU is open, and procedures are not required. Intensivists, trauma, anesthesia, and emergency medicine support are available 24/7, including an in-house intensivist overnight. Hospitalists participate in rapid responses and codes.
Typical patient volume is:
- Non-teaching: approximately 22-24 patients during a 12-hour shift
- Teaching: approximately 20 patients per day, including 16 starting patients plus four admissions
Dedicated teaching positions are also available.
Physicians have access to broad specialty support, including Cardiology, GI, Heart & Vascular, Orthopedics, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, Palliative Care, Nephrology, Cardiac Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Spine Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, and Hand Surgery.
Teaching & Leadership Opportunities
Physicians interested in academics can teach Internal Medicine residents, transitional year residents, and medical students. The teaching position is not initially a faculty appointment; however, strong performers may have the opportunity to pursue a core faculty position in the future.
Additional involvement is available through quality, medicine, peer review, and MEC committees, as well as other leadership opportunities within the hospital.
Candidate Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Hospitalist background
- New graduates and experienced physicians are welcome
- Physicians from Nephrology, Pulmonary, Critical Care, or Infectious Disease may also be considered with appropriate hospitalist experience
- Ability to thrive in a busy hospital environment
- Interest in teaching is preferred
- J-1 opportunities available for 2027

The position is based at Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear, Arizona. Med-Cure is expanding its hospitalist team as the surrounding community continues to grow.
