Join TeamHealth's highly skilled critical care medicine team at Tampa General Hospital as a nocturnist advanced practice clinician. We are seeking a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our collaborative, high acuity critical care team. Qualified candidates will have a master's degree in nursing or be a board certified PA.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Work autonomously while collaborating closely with the critical care team to assess, evaluate and manage critically ill patients in the ICU
- Provide comprehensive care for a diverse, high acuity patient population, including medical and surgical patients with vascular, thoracic, burn and cardiac conditions
- Deliver timely evaluation and management of patients with urgent and emergent clinical needs
- Perform histories and physical examinations
- Order, review and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging and other clinical testing
- Closely monitor patient status and response treatment, adjusting the plan of case as appropriate
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the ICU medical record
- Recommend and initiate appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Perform advanced bedside procedures, including intubation, bronchoscopy, central line placement, hemodialysis catheter placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis and paracentesis
- Demonstrate clinical excellence, sound judgement, and strong problem-solving skills while providing exceptional patient care
