Physician - General

Specialty: Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon

Client: Indian Health Service

Location: Gallup, NM

Schedule/Shifts Times: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm or 7:30a – 4:00pm  (minimum 2 -half day clinics per week)

Surgery Days: Mon, Tues, Thurs (subject to change)

Call Requirements: 1:2 call rotation

Daily Volume: Inpatients range from 3-6 patients. Clinic patients approx. 7-10

Patient Ages: all ages (majority adults)

Types of Cases: Scopes, Appendectomies, Hernias, Colonoscopy, infections/abscesses (no hearts or heads)

Support Staff: yes – 1 additional GS on staff, along with additional Physician support (Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine) and mid-levels and RN’s

Type of Charting: EMR – RPMS

Requirements: BLS, ACLS (through American Heart), DEA (fee paid, schedules 2-5)

Reason for Need: staff shortage

Pay Rates:

-$185/hour for regular hours and call back hours

-$300 to carry pager on weeknights

-$750 to carry pager on Sat/Sun ($1500 total for the weekend)

-Travel and Lodging Provided

-Malpractice Insurance Provided
