  • Schedule: 3 shifts/week, clinic hours 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (shift lengths 12+ hours depending on patient flow)
  • Weeks/Month: 9 shifts/week (full-time equivalent)
  • Employment Type: Locum, potential transition to perm
  • Certifications/Licenses: Active Physician Assistant (PA) license in VA required
  • Experience: Previous urgent care or outpatient experience preferred

What You’ll Do
  • Provide urgent care treatment for a diverse range of patient needs, from minor injuries to illnesses
  • Perform procedures including suturing, I&D, splinting, and cast application
  • Remove foreign bodies and manage epistaxis (nosebleeds)
  • Interpret X-rays, ECGs, and perform diagnostic and point-of-care testing
  • Stabilize patients with acute conditions and assist in minor trauma treatments
  • Document all patient encounters in Epic EMR system accurately and promptly
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality patient care
What You Need
  • Required:
    • Active PA license in Virginia
    • Current BLS/ACLS certification
    • Prior outpatient or urgent care experience
    • Proficiency in suturing, I&D, splinting, X-ray, and EKG interpretation
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Epic EMR
    • Ability to work independently and handle high patient volumes during peak seasons
