What You’ll Do:
- Provide trauma surgical care for adult patients in a Level II trauma hospital setting
- Manage all trauma procedures including abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, vascular, and neurosurgical cases
- Collaborate with a comprehensive support staff from a full hospital support team
- Work with Cerner EMR systems to document patient care
- Cover scheduled shifts and ongoing availability through March 2027
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards of care
What You Need:
Required:
- Board-certified in surgery, fellowship-trained in surgical critical care
- Pennsylvania medical license (or eligible for emergency privileges)
- DEA registration
- 1-2 years post-fellowship experience
- Valid ATLS certification
Preferred:
- Experience in trauma centers with adult patient populations
- Strong procedural skills in trauma surgeries
About the Assignment:
This role is based at a Level II trauma hospital with a patient census averaging varied caseloads across four trauma bays. You'll handle urgent trauma cases spanning abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, vascular, and neurosurgical procedures. The hospital serves a wide region covering 26 counties in Pennsylvania, providing a dynamic and rewarding environment for trauma surgeons.
