Physician - Radiation Oncology

The University of Arizona Department of Radiation Oncology is currently seeking a Radiation Oncologist to join a team of six physicians and one APP. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary clinical and research environment.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is an essential component of the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education. The department's mission is to teach students and house staff, excel at clinical and clinical-translational research, and to bring to patients' state-of-the-art treatment. In addition to the provider team, the department has six residents, five physicist staff, and two resident physicists. Dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, medical assistants, and other administrative staff support the department. The qualified candidate will have an academic appointment with the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.

Job Details

• Full - Time, Monday - Friday | 4 Clinic Days, 1 Admin Day
• Call - 1 shift per week, 1 weekend shift every 2 months
• Anticipated to manage 10-15 patients on active treatment daily and 180-200 new consultations/year
• Opportunity to subspecialize, dependent on current department needs (Sarcomas, GI, Lymphomas)

Qualifications

• BE/BC in Radiation Oncology
• Ability to obtain an Arizona Medical License
• Desire for clinical research and exploring further academic opportunities
• Interest in teaching and mentoring Residents and Medical Students
• Upcoming new graduates and experienced Physicians encouraged to apply
