Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and patient-focused Walk-In Clinic Physician to provide high-quality, timely medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and routine primary-care needs. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across a broad range of medical conditions while maintaining excellent clinical standards and patient satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment, possesses strong clinical judgment, and can independently manage a diverse patient population.
Schedule & Availability
- Flexible full-time and part-time scheduling available.
- Shifts are typically 10–12 hours in duration.
- Weekend coverage is required, with weekend shifts scheduled on a rotating or mutually agreed-upon basis.
- Physicians should be comfortable working extended shifts in a busy walk-in clinic environment.
- Specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and common medical conditions.
- Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop appropriate diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies as clinically indicated.
- Perform appropriate in-office procedures, including wound care, suturing, splinting, drainage of uncomplicated abscesses, and other minor procedures within the physician's scope of practice.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate patient education.
- Identify patients requiring emergency or specialty care and arrange appropriate referrals or transfers.
- Provide preventive-care counseling and address routine primary-care concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow evidence-based clinical guidelines, applicable regulations, and clinic policies.
- Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
- Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education requirements.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited residency program.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in Florida.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or another relevant specialty.
- Current DEA registration, as applicable.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred if not EM Board certified.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a high-volume outpatient setting.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
- If Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Board Certified/Eligible, possibility of providing coverage for our other practices during abscences.
- Availability and willingness to provide weekend coverage.
- Ability to work 10–12-hour clinical shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in urgent care, walk-in clinic, emergency medicine, family medicine, or outpatient primary care.
- Experience performing common outpatient procedures.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
- Interest in developing long-term relationships with patients and the local community.
Work Environment
This position is based in a fast-paced outpatient walk-in clinic. The physician will care for patients of varying ages and medical backgrounds and should be comfortable managing multiple patients efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care.
