Opportunity Overview
Covenant HealthCare is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hospitalist to join our collaborative Hospital Medicine group in Saginaw, Michigan as a Daytime Rounder.
Our program utilizes a separated coverage model where a dedicated admitting team handles admissions, allowing Day Rounders to concentrate exclusively on patient management, daily rounding, and discharges. You will work with a manageable patient census (~17 patients/day), closed Intensive Care Units staffed 24/7 by critical care specialists, and zero required procedures.
Position Highlights & Clinical Workflow
- Pure Rounding Focus: Rounders focus on inpatient follow-up and discharges; day-to-day admissions are covered by separate day/swing admitting teams.
- Manageable Daily Census: Average daily census is approximately 17 patients.
- Predictable Day Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM shifts.
- Advanced Scheduling & Flexibility: Schedules are completed 3 months in advance, providing predictability, ample planning for time off, and the ability to pick up or trade/modify shifts as needed.
- Balanced Monthly Rotations: 15 shifts per month (180 shifts per fiscal year). Shifts are scheduled in block rotations to support patient continuity without the rigid constraints of a mandatory 7-on/7-off rotation.
- No Procedures & Closed ICUs: Covenant features closed ICUs managed 24/7 by Intensivists, meaning hospitalists do not manage primary ICU care or perform required lines/intubations.
- Code Blue & Rapid Response Coverage: Rounders serve as code leaders and respond to in-house rapid responses alongside hospital teams.
- Academic & APP Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Providers and have opportunities to teach rotating CMU medical residents and students.
- EPIC EMR
