SCMPG seeks a BC/BE Pediatric Intensivist to join the PICU transport team at San Bernardino County. This is a 0.5 FTE position for the ground ambulance transport team reporting to the PICU/Transport Director and Chief of Pediatrics. The current transport team hours are 9 AM to 9:30 PM, subject to change according to operational needs across the region. The physician is required to stay on campus during duty hours for quick mobilization of the transport team.

 

SCMPG seeks a BC/BE Pediatric Intensivist to join the PICU transport team at San Bernardino County. This is a 0.5 FTE position for the ground ambulance transport team reporting to the PICU/Transport Director and Chief of Pediatrics. The current transport team hours are 9 AM to 9:30 PM, subject to change according to operational needs across the region. The physician is required to stay on campus during duty hours for quick mobilization of the transport team.

 Roles and responsibilities include verification of equipment and team readiness and prompt triage of transport or consultation calls with the dispatch center and accepting Pediatric Hospitalist or Intensivist (as applicable). The physician will assist with determination of team composition for each transport call and delegate calls to other regional teams or ambulance providers if appropriate. They continue to provide guidance to other regional nurse-led KP pediatric transport teams. They will function as the physician leader of the SBC transport team, collaborating with other team members (nurse, respiratory care practitioner and EMTs) to stabilize and manage the patients condition throughout transport. They will document assessments, interventions and changes in the patients condition during transport and provide hand-off to the receiving physician. They will participate in quality assurance activities, team competency simulations, and attend transport-focused meetings, conferences or workshops as assigned by the transport director.
