Opportunity Overview

The VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) is seeking a compassionate, skilled Dermatologist to join our Martinez VA Medical Center. This role supports a high?need clinical service, providing essential dermatologic care for Veterans across the region. Internal communications confirm this vacancy is fully approved to recruit. 

Major Duties

  • Provide comprehensive medical dermatology care, including complex inflammatory skin disease, high?volume general dermatology, and Veteran?specific dermatologic needs.
  • Perform dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and dermoscopy-based cancer screening.
  • Manage consults from multiple sites including Martinez, Stockton, and Yountville as clinically appropriate.
  • Collaborate with primary care, oncology, rheumatology, surgery, and other specialty teams.
  • Participate in system-wide access improvement efforts, including multidisciplinary recruitment and tele-dermatology when needed.
  • Document per VA standards using CPRS/EHR.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree and board certification/eligibility in Dermatology.
  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state).
  • Strong clinical skills and passion for serving Veterans.
