This is a Consultant Physician position responsible for applying medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of illnesses for patients within the Cancer Institute at CCAD. We are seeking a physician with a strong background in preventive health, specifically in the management of patients at high risk for cancers, to join the Cancer Institute.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Physician responsibilities:
- Provide personalized medical care focused on cancer prevention, and wellness optimization.
- Understanding of risk estimation models for risk stratification purposes
- Understanding in requesting and interpreting germline genetic cancer panels
- Manage and monitor high-risk patients to personalize precision prevention strategies using NCCN, ACMG and other guidelines
- Oversee comprehensive medical assessments, diagnostics, and integrative care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists in oncology, nutrition, genetic counselling, and other subspecialties.
- Guide patients through advanced screening, early detection, and lifestyle-based intervention strategies.
- Contribute to program development in precision and longevity medicine research
- Evaluates patients and records applicable notes about patients’ condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and/or making a possible referral to another member of the health care medical staff team
- Liaisons with other medical and non-medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatment
- Supplies and provides care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner
- Follows ethical and regulatory guidelines
- Takes part in administrative functions that ensure the continued operations of the clinical environment, such as committees, task forces and performance improvement measures
- Adheres to individual approved clinical privileges, as well as to all policies and procedures of the Medical Staff.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- For Physicians from Tier 1 countries, not less than two (2) years additional experience post qualification in managing complex and high-risk medical cases.
- For Physicians from Tier 2 countries, not less than five (5) years additional experience post qualification in managing complex and high-risk medical cases.
- Demonstrated interest or certification in Genomics Cancer Risk Assessment
- Must hold a valid License/ Registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of health care professionals
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff
- Ability to speak and write in English is required
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited Institution
- Completion of a specialty qualification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, as per the Recognized Specialty Certificate table listed in the Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements 2025.
