As a Locum Physician specializing in Oncology, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality outpatient and inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients at a renowned free-standing cancer center. Required Skills:
- Valid medical license to practice in South Carolina
- Board-certified or eligible in Medical Oncology
- Proven experience in outpatient and inpatient oncology settings
- Proficiency in managing complex oncology cases and chemotherapy administration
- Strong interpersonal skills with patient-centered approach
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
- Ability to participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary team collaborations
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with hematology, particularly benign hematology
- Involvement in bone marrow transplant management
- Prior work in cancer research or clinical trials
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (preferred)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- At least 2 years of clinical practice in oncology
- Experience working with tumor boards and multidisciplinary teams
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing timeframe estimated at 60 days
- Ability to travel, with reimbursed expenses for flights, lodging, rental cars, and mileage at IRS standard rates
- Must be comfortable working in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with no call requirements during the locum period; call expected if transitioned to permanent position (1 week out of every 6-8 weeks)
