Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in Emergency Medicine – Cambridge, OH

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team on a locum basis. In this position, you will provide acute emergency services at a facility averaging over 55 patient visits daily, with a total annual volume of approximately 24,500-25,500 cases. The shifts are set for 12 hours, with options for both day (7 AM – 7 PM) and night (7 PM – 7 AM) coverage, ensuring a flexible yet rewarding work schedule. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and manage a 17-bed emergency department that includes transfer coordination with several key facilities.

Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality patient care, efficiently managing patient flow, and participating in transfer and consult activities. Credentialing takes approximately 60+ days, with an anticipated start date of March 7, 2026, once all requirements are met. This role requires a minimum of 5 shifts per month, with ongoing availability sought for at least 12 months.

Required Skills:

• MD or DO medical degree with valid licensure to practice emergency medicine
• Proven experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
• Proficiency with EMR systems; Meditech preferred

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in hospital transfer coordination
• Prior work in a multi-tenant or high-volume ED setting
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
• At least 2 years of post-residency emergency medicine experience

Other Requirements:

• Active medical license and DEA registration
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts consistently
• Travel arrangements to be coordinated through OVP
• No overtime; travel expenses reimbursed when applicable
• Credentialing process of approximately 45 days
