Join Our Team as a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician in Jackson, OH

In this role, you will provide urgent, high-quality emergency medical services on an ongoing basis, managing an annual patient volume of over 18,500 with a dedicated team. You will have the opportunity to oversee Advanced Practice Providers, collaborate with specialist consultants, and contribute to patient care excellence in a well-equipped facility. The position offers flexible shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM or 8 PM to 8 AM, with a minimum of 5 shifts per month and ongoing commitments of 12+ months.

Required Skills:

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) with valid unrestricted license to practice in Ohio
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Emergency Medicine
• Minimum of 5 shifts per month availability, preferably 8-10 shifts
• Proven experience in Emergency Department settings
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to oversee APPs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Nice to Have Skills:

• Proficiency with AllScripts or Paragon EMR systems
• Experience managing trauma-level patient cases (though no trauma designation at this facility)
• Familiarity with hospital admissions processes and consulting with specialists such as cardiologists, pulmonologists, and radiologists

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• At least 2 years of emergency medicine practice experience
• Previous locum or hospital-based emergency medicine experience preferred

Other Requirements:

• Availability to start as soon as credentialed, with a minimum of 60 days' notice for onboarding
• Participation in managing ED admissions and transfers (less than 7%)
• Ability to travel to Jackson, OH; all travel arrangements must be booked through our vendor
• Professional liability insurance coverage as required
• No overtime requirement; physician orders for admissions will be executed by the ED physician

Compensation for this position is highly competitive, with an hourly pay rate of $273.00.
