Hoag Spine Center is a recognized leader in accurately diagnosing neck and back pain, while providing the most advanced non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment options available. Back pain is one of the two most common complaints seen by physicians. Most back pain is due to muscle or ligamentous sprains and strains. Proper diagnosis is essential to avoid unnecessary surgery.

Position Details:

• Full-Time opportunity in Newport Beach, CA and Irvine, CA
• Outpatient focused role with inpatient duties as needed including service as first surgical assist in operating room
• Call coverage required for evenings and weekends. Frequency would be 1:8
• Hybrid private setting within both clinic and surgical - Hospital call to support patients in spine and back, partnering with the supervising physician.
• Conduct physical exams, diagnose, and treat illnesses, order, and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, etc.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from a Physician Assistants training program, evidence of satisfactory performance and completion of proctoring requirements
• Current license in good standing to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of California
• Successful candidates must have experience and expertise in the full spectrum of chronic neck or back pain, osteoarthritis, nerve compression, spine bifida, sciatica, tumors and degenerative back disorders etc.
• Surgery with innovative spine diagnostic technology and progressive treatment options.
• Current and active DEA licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative / team-oriented environment are a must.
