Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens Physician

Required Skills:

• Valid active California medical license
• Board-certified or Board eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or ABEOM) within the past 5 years
• Demonstrated clinical activity in emergency medicine with current hospital privileges
• Ability to work night shifts (6 am – 2 pm, 8 am – 4 pm, or 1 pm – 11 pm)
• Experience managing an average of 110 patients per 24-hour period
• Reliable and adaptable to shift schedules
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous locum or hospital-based emergency medicine experience
• Familiarity with hospital privileging processes
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, ATLS, PALS
• Bilingual abilities to effectively serve diverse patient populations

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree (MD or DO)
• At least 2 years of recent emergency medicine practice clinical activity
• Experience working in California healthcare facilities
• Proven ability to work independently in high-pressure environments

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to work night shifts only (mandatory)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if applicable
• Willing to adhere to hospital privileging and credentialing processes
• Reimbursement policies apply as specified—no travel reimbursements for home-to-airport or airport-to-home trips, but eligible for rental car insurance and airport parking as detailed
