The Chief of the Cardiology Division at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) will lead and oversee all aspects of cardiology care, education, research, and mentorship in a dynamic academic and clinical environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Cardiology Division, overseeing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiology care and procedures.
  • Provide expertise and direct patient care in non-invasive and/or invasive cardiology (including echocardiography, TEE, nuclear cardiology, stress testing, electrophysiology, and/or cardiac catheterization).
  • Promote and support cross-disciplinary clinical, educational, and research collaborations.
  • Demonstrate administrative and leadership expertise, including developing clinician scientists and advising underrepresented groups.
  • Maintain eligibility for a UCLA faculty appointment at the Associate or full Professor level and for VA credentialing.
  • Contribute strategically with vision, communication, and emotional intelligence.

Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent
  • Board Certified
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license

 Academic and Research Opportunities:

  • Collaborate with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in education and research.
  • Support and advance departmental research objectives, including the start-up of research programs.
  • Foster and participate in clinical and research programs (cardiomyopathy, cardiac imaging, arrhythmia).
  • Supervise, mentor, and teach trainees in general and advanced cardiology subspecialty programs.

  • Starting salary $350,000 - $400,000
