Duties:                         The Staff, Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus (9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44195), Hillcrest Hospital (6780 Mayfield Rd, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124), and Fairview Hospital (18101 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, OH 44111) provides full perioperative anesthesia services within the cardiothoracic anesthesia division. He or she specializes in ambulatory surgery, trauma, cardiac, congenital, vascular, and thoracic anesthesia for adult patients undergoing surgical procedures, including urgent/emergent myocardial revascularization with and without support of extracorporeal circulation, valve and major vessel (intra- and extrathoracic) surgeries with conventional or minimal invasive (endoscopic/robotically assisted) approaches, including echocardiography. He or she determines degree of surgical risk and type/quality of anesthetic; discusses findings with medical practitioners; administers local, intravenous, and spinal anesthetic to patients; establishes remedial measures to counteract adverse reactions and complications. This position includes on-call responsibilities and night and weekend duties as needed.

Requirements:             At a minimum, the position requires an MD or foreign equivalent as determined by a credentials evaluation or as evidenced by an ECFMG certificate; completion of a residency in Anesthesiology; completion of an ACGME accredited Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship; Certification from the National Board of Echocardiography; and eligibility for medical licensure in Ohio.

Salary:                         Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($578,000 to $615,000/year)
