Mercy Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing inpatient Neurosurgery team at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

This is an opportunity to become part of a highly collaborative Neuroscience Institute where physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, residents, and support staff work together to provide exceptional care for patients across Northwest Ohio.

About the Opportunity

  • Full-time inpatient position
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Day shift schedule (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Minimum of one weekend per month
  • No routine call responsibilities currently required
  • Comprehensive orientation and training provided

This provider will work closely with our neurosurgeons and interdisciplinary care teams to manage patients throughout their inpatient neurosurgical journey.

 

What You'll Do

As a Neurosurgery APP, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the neurosurgical team
  • Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic testing and treatments
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient response
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Coordinate care transitions and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, nurses, therapists, and ancillary teams to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Ohio licensure or eligibility for licensure
  • Board certification
  • DEA eligibility
  • BLS and ACLS certification

Physician Assistant

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Ohio licensure or eligibility for licensure
  • DEA eligibility
  • BLS and ACLS certification

Neurosurgery, critical care, trauma, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or inpatient experience is welcomed, but we encourage qualified candidates from a variety of backgrounds to apply.
