The Staff Clinical Ethics Consultant provides ethics consultation services at a multi-hospital, quaternary care system by delivering clinical ethics consultation as part of a group practice.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical ethics consultation service weekday-only call responsibilities (no evenings/weekends/holidays).
- Travel to Main Campus and regional hospitals across Northeast Ohio as needed.
- Maintain internal documentation of clinical ethics consultations for database records and contribute to QI/QA efforts.
- Mentor and supervise bioethics fellows and rotating trainees.
- Provide expert input on clinical ethics issues across the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise and at the local, regional, and national levels.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to:
- Provide high-quality ethics consultation services on a fast-paced, high-volume, team-based service.
- Facilitate and lead meetings, utilize appropriate techniques for conflict engagement, and build consensus

Credentials/qualifications:
Required:
- MD/DO, JD, PhD, international equivalent, or field-specific terminal degree.
- Acute care clinical ethics consultation experience.
Preferred:
- Successful completion of a post-graduate clinical ethics fellowship.
