What You’ll Do
- Provide in-house laborist coverage for Labor & Delivery with obstetric-focused management
- Cover approximately 90% Labor and Delivery needs during scheduled shifts
- Support delivery decision-making, including C-section decision-making and routine vs. complicated deliveries
- Perform and interpret core OB ultrasound and fetal monitoring tasks (e.g., NST/CST/FSE, FHR interpretation)
- Manage OB cases across low-risk (60%) and high-risk (40%) pregnancies
- Participate in ongoing coverage needs, including 2–3 weekends per month (Fri–Sun as specified)
- Contribute to documentation and coordination with L&D nurses and midwives (midwife onsite may vary)
What You Need
Required
- Obstetrics & Gynecology specialty (OB/GYN clinician)
- Ability to provide the required OB/L&D and Gynecology procedures as listed by the facility, including:
- Vaginal and complicated delivery management
- C-section decision-making and C-sections
- VBAC support
- Repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations
- Selected surgical gynecology capabilities (as applicable)
Preferred
- Experience handling a mix of low-risk and high-risk obstetric cases
- Familiarity with EPIC (documentation/EMR) preferred (facility uses EPIC)
About the Assignment
Bon Secours Mercy Health – Springfield Regional Medical Center (OB/GYN) is seeking an OB/GYN to join their team as soon as credentialed. Coverage includes potential June start (2 weeks prior to the start date), 07/17–07/19, and 2–3 weekends per month ongoing, with in-house 24-hour coverage (Friday 7am–Monday 7am) and laborist-style call. The unit includes L&D/Post Partum/Triage (34 beds) and supports cases with L&D nurses and midwives (midwife onsite may vary). Average C-section percentage is ~one patient, and nursery admissions average ~four per day.
