NorthBay Health operates a growing network of Urgent Care centers across the region, with locations in Benicia, American Canyon, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Vacaville, and Winters, providing convenient access to high-quality care for the communities we serve.

Conveniently located between the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa Valley, and Sacramento, Fairfield offers an ideal blend of suburban comfort, outdoor recreation, world-class dining, and easy access to Northern Californias premier destinations. 

Position Highlights

  • Practice Setting: Outpatient Urgent Care
  • Schedule:
    • Full-time: 15 shifts per month
    • 10-hour shifts
    • Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
    • Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Patient Volume:
    • Average 20-40 patients per day
  • Clinical Resources:
    • State-of-the-art equipment and technology
    • Integrated health system with access to specialty care
    • Collaborative support from physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and vaccinations as clinically indicated
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and higher levels of care when necessary
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure exceptional patient outcomes
  • Provide oversight and supervision of APPs, as applicable
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and organizational committees

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty
  • Current California medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or a comparable fast-paced clinical setting preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Guaranteed Base Salary: $354,000
  • APP Supervision Stipend: $12,000 annually per 1.0 FTE APP
  • Signing Bonus: Up to $30,000
  • Retention Bonus: Up to $30,000 annually beginning after completion of the second year
