Medical Director of General Surgery

Adena Health System, Chillicothe, Ohio is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Medical Director of General Surgery. Interested physicians will oversee General Elective and Acute Care Surgical Services and report to the Chief Medical Officer, Adena Medical Group. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills, a commitment to operational excellence, and the leadership skills necessary to shape General Surgery services throughout the region.

Leadership Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a long-term plan for General Surgery service line
- Optimizing the Acute Care Surgery model
- Supporting the growth of elective and subspecialty surgical services
- Maintaining alignment and consistency across critical access hospitals
- Improving access, efficiency, quality, and patient outcomes
- Building strong relationships with hospital leadership, medical staff, and community partners
- Serve as a visible representative of Adena Health System in the community
Skills & Qualifications:
- Board certified in General Surgery
- Minimum of three years’ post-training experience
- Demonstrated success developing or leading a General Surgery Program
- Active and unrestricted Ohio Medical License
- Experience with minimally invasive and robotic surgery preferred
- Trauma program development experience and understanding of regulations preferred
