Physician - Prosthodontist

The Greater Los Angeles Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for a Staff Prosthodontic to join our Dental Service Line in a full-time clinical and teaching role. In this role you will perform general dentistry procedures, including preventive and operative dentistry, dental prophylaxis, radiographic interpretation, simple root canal therapy, extractions, surgical extractions, and simple and surgical pre-prosthetic procedures.

Key Responsibilities: As a Staff Periodontist, youll provide periodontal and peri-implant care across a broad clinical scope, including:

• Examine patients, establish diagnoses, develop comprehensive treatment plans, provide a full range of dental care.
• Provide fixed, removable, and complete prosthodontic treatment.
• Fabricate and restore dental prostheses and implant-supported restorations.
• Perform simple and complex dental rehabilitations.
• Use digital scanners and milling units.
• Treat severely worn and debilitated dentitions.
• Replace missing teeth and supporting oral structures; restore natural teeth and osseointegrated implants.
• Provide treatment planning for pre-prosthetic surgery.
• Treat orofacial trauma and cosmetic and functional defects resulting from trauma or other conditions.
• Fabricate oral appliances for treatment of obstructive sleep
• Perform diagnostic procedures within the scope of Prosthodontics.
• Provide appropriate dental and medical consultations and referrals.
• Triage, diagnose, and manage urgent and chronic dental conditions

What Were Looking For: The successful candidate will be experienced and competent in all phases of Prosthodontics, including:

• Fixed, complete, and removable dental prostheses
• Implant restoration and implant-supported prosthetics
• Simple and complex full-mouth rehabilitation
• Treatment of severely worn dentition, orofacial trauma, cosmetic and functional defects
• Pre-prosthetic treatment planning and surgery
• Restoration of osseointegrated dental implants
• Oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea
• Comprehensive prosthetic treatment to restore oral health and function
• Digital Dentistry

Work Schedule: Full-time / On-site

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine
• Current, full, and unrestricted license
• Completion or in-progress of completing residency in core specialty OR
  • comparable experience as a dentist involved in treating medically compromised patients
• Preferred:
• Clinical experience in digital dentistry (e.g. use of digital scanners, CAD/DAM technology) - Minimum of three years.

 Benefits and Features:

• Salary Range: $250,000,000-$275,000
• PTO: 50-55 days of PTO annually (26/13 days of annual/sick leave, 11 holidays,)
